When I met Richard I was doing powerlifting and he encouraged me to try calisthenics/mobility strength training as a new challenge to incorporate into my program. I had been interested in trialling this area for some time, and it was helpful that occasionally at the gym when we’d see each other that Richard would give me drills to try. Safe to say those small, but meaningful interactions, is what lead me to pursue Richard as a strength mobility coach.
My upper body & core strength has improved immensely since starting with him over a year ago. I’m getting closer to doing a free hand stand on my own (whereas I couldn’t even kick off the ground when we first started), my shoulder endurance is stronger which translates over to my powerlifting, and my recovery for upper body has also improved in result of the numerous stretches we incorporate. Also - my back and shoulder gains is even more noticeable now!
I can’t couldn’t recommend Richard enough - he’s always bubbly and positive, amazing to have a chat with, very patient and very knowledgeable. He’s a coach who recognises balance (literally) and a sustainable lifestyle, which is very refreshing.
Richard is unlike any other PT I've worked with. His knowledge base is industry leading, forward thinking and he's continually learning and passing on that knowledge to his clients. His energy is unmatched which makes a huge difference, especially on those days when gym is the last place you want to be.
I've been training with Richard for approx 2 years. My goal when I started training with Richard was to look, feel and move better. Looking better is a constant work in progress but feeling and moving better are things I have definitely noticed a vast improvement in. All those niggling aches and pains that most people live with are now a distant memory.
Richard isn't the type of PT that just goes through the motions, he clearly loves what he does, and loves to help people achieve their goals. I would never consider another PT so therefore couldn't recommend him highly enough.
Richard is a no bull trainer. He’s a coach. He’s a motivator. He’s a listener and observer.
If you are going to turn up, be switched on, not because he’s a gym junkie who will bust your guts, but because he takes your safety seriously and educates you on how to do things the right way, prevent injuries and get your body to a stronger shape and in positions your didn’t think you could do! He teaches you to listen and respond to your body. He guides you to push yourself but never hurt yourself. He coaches you to respect and appreciate your body for what is can do, despite your age or lifestyle. Through this he is gently (and not so gently sometimes 😏) motivating you to continue to push for results.
Your goals or focus may change because of the things in your life or where your body is at, Richard will adapt this in the session but also when he creates your bespoke programs.
If you want to get yelled at and do generic weights, do a pump class. If you want a body that can get better, stronger, more agile and lean with age, do program with Richard and see how you feel… I’m pretty sure it will be beyond what you thought you could do …
I can strongly recommend Richard as he has been teaching and developing me since 2016 when I lost my sense of balance. He has helped me regain my balance and improved on it. He has the knowledge and patience to help older people with their body improvement and especially with their balancing. I thank Richard every day.

My initial goals were to work on strength and flexibility. Prior to my engaging Richard as a personal trainer (some 10 years ago!), my partner had been with him for a few months.
